Okay, Kyle, I'm sure you know alot about the differnent scales, i.e.; Ionian, Locrian, Phrygian ect.. and Brad I'm sure you at least have heard of them. Anyway, here is what they sound like if you wanna study up on one particular one and make a solo that follows something. Like for a riff you made or something. So just search whatever one of the following and look for one of their particular scales to mess around with. And I got this info from a smart guy on Ultimate-Guitar, so all of it is hopefully really accurate. Enjoy guitarests. ^.^
Ionian: Happy Dorian: Bluesy, funky minor Phrygian: Dark Lydian: Goofy (Simpsons Theme) Mixolydian: Bluesy, but can also sound kind of weird Aeolian: Sad Locrian: Evil and weird
